JSC RusHydro is
Russia’s biggest power generation company and the second biggest in the world in
terms of installed capacity. RusHydro is the nation’s leader in power generation
from renewable energy sources such as: wind, tides, waves and geothermal
heat. As of 1 January 2009, the company’s installed capacity amounted to
25,336.6 MW. The company’s securities are traded in the quotation list A1 on the
Russian MICEX and RTS stock exchanges. In July 2008, a program of global
depositary receipts
(GDR) was launched and in August 2008, JSC RusHydro shares were included in
the MSCI EM and MSCI Russian indexes, guaranteeing greater liquidity of the
company’s shares. In November 2008, Standard & Poor’s raised the corporate
governance rating (RCG) of RusHydro to RCG-5+ and the national scale rating
to RCG-5.7.
Bureya
HPP, a branch of JSC RusHydro, is considered one of the largest
power stations in Russia. It is located on the bank of the Bureya River in the
Russian Far East. The aggregate capacity of its six power units is
approximately 2,000 MW.
