BALC to continue the enlargement of Novgorod Cogeneration Plant

The main building of Novgorod Cogeneration Plant (TGC-2) was fully assembled and enclosed by precast wall panels.

The main building’s “enclosure” will allow speeding up the inner works and raise the safety of the equipment inside. In the nearest time the specialists will continue the assembling and installation of key equipment, including a GTE-160 gas turbine.

The renovation / enlargement project for Novgorod Cogeneration Plant (Russian: “Novgorodskaya TES”, affiliate of TGC-2) was launched by BUSINESS ALLIANCE Leasing Company in 2008. Under the terms of a 101-month lease agreement BALC organizes the purchase, integrated delivery, assembling and installation of the following equipment:

• GTE-160 gas turbine and TZFG-160-2M turbo generator both manufactured by Power Machines Co. (Russia)
• Water pipe waste heat boiler manufactured by Engineering Company “ZIOMAR” (Russia)
• Additional equipment from different manufactures

The project is funded by the State Corporation “Vneshekonombank”. The operational start of the modernized Novgorod Cogeneration Plant is set for 2010.

OJSC Territorial Generation Company №2 (TGC-2) was established on 25 February 2005. TGC-2 is a leading heat and power generation company in Northern Russia. The company’s activities include heat and power generation as well as heat power sale (steam and hot water) to consumers. TGC-2 has generating capacities in 6 regions: Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Kostroma, Novgorod, Tver and Yaroslavl. TGC-2 operates 16 heat CHPPs, 11 boiler-houses, 5 enterprises of heat pipelines. The aggregate installed electric capacity of TGC-2 enterprises is 2 576.5 MW.
